A puzzling reality
The suffering of sentient beings for human pleasure and convenience is the most straightforward cruelty on the planet. It is also the most puzzling.
Nobody can doubt the pain caused by animal agriculture. But plenty of people find a way to justify their eating habits.
Few people would stay quiet if someone kicked their dog. But many scream and cheer while others hit animals in cruel sports.
The UK is a “nation of animal lovers”. But many of the animals wouldn’t know it.
What’s the answer?
Veganism confronts the use of non-human animals by humans. Unravelling the reality of our relationship with animals allows us to challenge the cruel status quo.
How to “solve” the CRYPoeTIC?
The CRYPoeTIC is a new poetry puzzle. A poem that doubles as a cryptic clue, or a cryptic clue masquerading as a poem.
Some clues are mildly cryptic. Some are devilishly poetic. For newbies to cryptic crosswords, see this guide for how to solve them.
The key thing to remember is: a clue leading to the whole answer will be at the START or END of the poem.
Remember that and, even if you ignore everything else, you can still have a guess at the answer!
